How about that Spore is a tool of the devil because it teaches children about the science of evolution.

Actually, the universe has ended, it was just replaced by something stranger...

Wait, stranger than the anti-Spore idiots, or stranger than the week in general? And why can't strange for once equal more beautiful?

Stranger than the previous universe, which fortunately lacked fanaticism... and unfortunately lacked cats as well...

All in all i think strange beauty won out, but not by much.

On the bright side, the LHC in this universe hasn't broken anything yet... webcams to prove it:

Wow, I drank the koolaid on that one... from the antispore site... the user in question started talking about their biblical beliefs and started quoting from Genesis... and I don't remember any form of rolling in the garden:

“21. The LORD smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: “Never again will I curse the ground because of man, even though every inclination of his heart is evil from childhood. And never gonna give you up.
22. “Never gonna let you down.”
23.”Never gonna run around and desert you.”
24. “Never gonna make you cry.”
25. “Never gonna say goodbye.”
26. “Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you.”
27.”Never truly believe anything you read on the Internet. There will always be cases of Poe’s Law.”

Dammit! Totally fell for it. And I got Rickrolled.

I thought the black hole wasn't supposed to happen until they started shooting beams in opposite directions for an actual collision. So we're not safe yet.

We miss you!

:-) Miss y'all too, BD. (And really, more should be happening here, but I am simply not done whining about this house move yet. Because, y'know, I am the first person ever to have a difficult house move.)

Still, even the collision phase isn't going to blow us all up -- of course not. Perhaps the most interesting thing about those rumors, though, is how they propagated. I'm sure that it's not so different from how other panics arise and grow, but *this* one... has anyone documented the development of the rumor? The same folks who said the same stuff about the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider, I suppose... *sigh*
